The highlight of our European Holiday in 2010 was the week spent in the delightful village of Morgins with all arrangements made through Bret Marshall at Morginssnowsports. All details were taken care of, from the quality accommodation, lift tickets, ski hire and most importantly the care taken in choosing skiing programs for each day so that each member of our family, of varying skiing abilities, enjoyed both the skiing and meeting back up for lunch.  In 6 days we felt we covered a lot of territory, experienced great European skiing, fantastic Swiss hospitality and generally enjoyed hanging out with Bret and his wonderful wife Claire, also a wonderful instructor. We would recommend Morginssnowsports to any level of skier with or without knowledge of the surrounding ski slopes, the expert local knowledge and instruction just makes the holiday. We will return for more.

Our trip started off on a hot summers day in Australia, though in no time we where in a foreign country trying to speak a foreign language.

As we arrived into the small town of Aigle in the dark of night tired of traveling it was very comforting to see the welcoming smile for Bret Marshall from MorginsSnowSports. (A smile and helpfulness in conjunction with an out standing knowledge of the area that Bret had for the whole of our stay) After quickly getting our luggage together we where off to Morgins, with a quick informative tour of town on our way to the unit and long waited bed. The next morning with our body clock still set in Australian time and excitement, we woke very early, so a quick trip to the bakery then skis on.  Off to the ticket office to be met by Bret, (this removed the language barrier) and before we knew it we where on the lift, lift passes and insurances all done.

The ski area that awaited us at the top of the lift was nothing short of amazing.

And this as we found out through out our stay was just one very small part of the Portes Du Soleil ski area. This is where MorginsSnowSports really came into their own, from one amazing valley of skiing to the next. From one great place to stop for a drink or a bite to eat to the next, this knowledge can only come from years of skiing this amazing part of the world.

With MorginsSnowSports working with us, our ski levels improved dramatically and we where taken to places that we would never have got to, in the time we had in Morgins, from steeps to bump, terrain parks to trees and cruisey runs just for fun. Combine all that with the occasional dinner we shared and a well-deserved drink after a long day skiing, it was simply amazing.

We take this opportunity to thank MorginsSnowSport for introducing us to the Porte Du Soleil region, we had an amazing holiday for the whole family and we will be back.  Look forward to seeing your smiling face at the train next year. Have a good day

This season we made our first visit to Europe as a family. As each ski field has its own way of doing things we were very happy to take Bret’s advice on skiing at Morgins. We had skied with Bret quite a few times at Queenstown and enjoyed his style. Bret was able to arrange great accommodation to some very demanding specifications, provide advice on trains to get to Morgins and picked us up from the station. His car was quite a sight loaded up with a family of 4 and luggage for a 6 week holiday.

Bret arranged ski and snowboard hire, organised lift tickets and lessons. Despite Switzerland not having as good a season as normal (the UK had apparently pinched all the snow) we found the conditions great and empty compared to what we are used to. The best part of the trip was the touring with Bret by ski and snowboard.   Despite spending three days of our 8 day stay touring with Bret we still covered less than half of the total area of Porte De Soleil. France is definitely a much more lively après ski area than Switzerland, with meals at the Goat Village a definite must!

Bret and his wife were also kind enough to invite the 4 of us around for a traditional Swiss raclet meal with some local wine which was fantastic. My youngest son appreciated the chocolate tart and demanded the recipe.

Bret was an excellent guide, host and instructor. We would strongly recommend anyone who is heading to Switzerland for a ski holiday to use Bret’s services.

Bret,

As adults and later with a family we have been coming to beautiful Morgins since 1995. We wished to thank you and Morgins Snow Sports for your efforts in that time in introducing us all to skiing, an activity that has become such a passion for us all. From complete beginner adults learning far too late in life to very young children finding their way on skis you have successfully guided us to a position where we as a family can enjoy all the mountains (and the Portes de Soleil in particular) have to offer.

As more able skiers now, Morgin Snow Sports continue to extend our skill levels whenever we return to Morgins in a way sympathetic to our ability; slower for the adults perhaps and at amazing pace for the youngsters.

We will continue to come back for more but wished to express our thanks. We have happily recommended Morgins Snow Sports and yourself to anyone seeking excellent tuition in a fantastic location and will continue to do so.

 All the very best,

Love from the Masons family from Abu Dhabi.

We have been skiing with Bret for 10 years since Alex was 8, Elizerbeth 6 years old. To watch our children gdown the slopes this year was absolute pleasure. Alex has taken up boarding, Bret found us a very good instructer, but they ski and board with  "STILE". One evening on the way down, I was 100 meters behind Elizerbeth and 4 boys where following Lizzie and she was skiing really well, and  I owe this to Bret and his great skill and knowledge of skiing.

This winter was my first winter in Switzerland and i decided i should learn to ski. a friend of mine recommended Bret. we had a couple of group lessons with people of various levels. I have appreciated the way Bret managed the group, trying to understand everyones needs so, in the end of the lesson, everybody felt like they have learned something and nobody complained about being too difficult to follow or too easy to be bored by the end of the lesson. i liked a lot his teaching method as he managed to put me in confidence by explaining and repeating the same excercise until he was sure i understood. Thanks to Bret's lessons i managed to go from frightened beginner skier to a more confident red slope skier.

The boys and I have had a great time having lessons with Bret for the past couple of years, he is really good with the boys (11 & 9) and my self (sometimes nervous! ), he gives us lots of encouragment. He knows the area really well and lots of people on the slopes , and his lessons are very varied.

We had 2 mornings of skiing lessons with Bret and really enjoyed this! Even though the skill level in our group varied a lot, he did a great job in taking the time for each and everyone of us: everyone learnt a lot! You really notice that he has a lot of experience with skiing, because he talked also about the equipment and why it's important: not many skiing teachers do this!
Make sure you also book Bret for a guided day! We did this and it was a lot of fun. He showed us some really nice places (where we wouldn't have gone ourselves!). He also adapted the tour to the group: we wanted to do some off-piste, he knew the places! We wanted to do some relaxed skiing, he took us to the long, relaxing runs. It was a great day!

"Bret is amazing!! I first met him in 2002 when he was faced with resurrecting my skiing after a severe loss of nerve and a four year gap.  That was a challenge for anyone, but Bret showed endless patience and through meticulous development of my understanding and technique, he renewed my confidence and stretched my skiing.  He's totally dedicated to developing his pupil and clearly gets a buzz from their achievements - gave me a hug at the bottom of the Swiss Wall my first time!
I've now skied with him over many seasons, and will always return to Morgins because I never want another trainer!
